DIGITAL UTOPIAS

This workshop invited participants to imagine alternative digital futures using Ruth Levitas’ utopia-building methodology. Together, we critically examined today’s digital landscape—focusing on algorithms, platforms, and the power structures they reproduce.

We explored emerging tools and platforms that reject recommendation-driven models in favor of digital self-governance, open-source practices, and distributed systems. As a collective experiment, participants deployed and worked within their own collaborative whiteboard, turning speculation into practice.

The workshop combined critical reflection and hands-on making to rehearse more democratic, participatory digital worlds.
